What Hiroba does#
Hiroba is an open-source virtual office that gives remote teams the moment they lost when they left the office: seeing that a teammate is around, walking over, and asking "got a sec?" Everyone appears on a shared floor. Walk near someone for spatial voice chat, or page any teammate directly from the roster. Voice is WebRTC peer-to-peer with optional 1:1 screen sharing. There is no always-on video and no recording, so it works as an ambient presence layer alongside your existing meeting tools rather than replacing them. The client is a native Tauri app designed to stay open all day. The server is a single Rust binary you can self-host with no seat limits or feature gating (Apache-2.0), and a managed hosted edition is available if you don't want to run infrastructure.
